New malletKAT Options Available.
Alternate Mode's new water resistant sensors and optional AcoustaFeel Pads revolutionizes electronic mallet percussion...again.

For over two decades, KAT and Alternate Mode have given our customers tons of great reasons to purchase a malletKAT. With a declared "war on obsolescence", we have consistently upgraded and improved our controller. Every aspect of the malletKAT has been refined. It now enjoys a greater dynamic range and low end sensitivity. It has more nuance for expression and it's functionality has been greatly enhanced. It even weights less! It has been fun to watch the malletKAT mature into a well seasoned member of the mallet percussion family.

So now in 2010, we have again taken a fresh look at how we can improve our flagship instrument and have taken new strides in addressing some of the concerns of the marching percussionist.

I cant get my instrument wet!

Common sense would dictate that one should avoid using any electronic device in wet conditions. We understand however that sometimes this situation cannot be avoided, and this fact has been a huge block for including KAT with outdoor marching percussion.....until now!

Now shipping immediately, our newly improved FSR sensor is available in a water resistant model. Newly purchased malletKAT Pro's can add this water resistant feature as an option for a nominal charge of only $75. ($50 malletKAT Express and $100 malletKAT Grand). These sensors have the same recently improved formula for increased dynamic range and sensitivity as our standard malletKAT. All malletKAT's can be upgraded to this sensor change as well.

Don't want to replace your old sensors now? Not a problem.... Introducing the KATdome, a clear vinyl covering that is simply draped over the entire malletKAT, making it completely water resistant. Simply play right on top of the cover. The KATdome will be available shortly in all malletKAT sizes. Call us!

I want it to feel more like my acoustic!

Most players of the malletKAT love its feel, as it is incredibly easy to play on for hours on end. But some players still prefer a harder feeling bar, more like the feel of an acoustic mallet instrument. To meet the requests of ALL of our customer's preferences, we will now offer our new "AcoustaFeel" pad. This pad does not have the bounce or resilience of our legendary nitrogen gas filled neoprene pads, but the feel is definitely closer to that of hitting wood or metal.

When ordering any malletKAT, there will now be a check option for the AcoustaFeel pads. There is no additional charge for this pad option.
