Muse Receptor 2 Pro - AM Model
« on: November 14, 2009, 09:24:18 AM »
Well, let's reawaken the 'Receptor' board. A new AM-specific model is surely worth a discussion thread of its own:

Top quality gear, this. Full maple and oak kits and loads of snares and cymbals; all top of the line. Cost: $2,999.

Soooo .... anybody tempted?

Mine too. This little box has got "pro" written all over it. A bit rich for my amateur status. Mind you, when I think how much my TDW-20 has cost me ...

I just bought a new PC freeing up my current computer for just DAW. I'm going to buy a steel rackmount case for it and get rid of every program not music related. It's an Intel Dual Core Quad 2.5ghz G33 chipset with {2}320gb hard drive system with my old 19" lcd monitor. I just saw Madona's drummer with a little 11" touchscreen right over his Turbo for his soft instruments on his computer.

jrcel, are you familiar with nLite?  It's a great way to strip down your Windows install to the necessities.  If you're running XP, no more Outlook Express (for example).  Also, keep in mind those steel cases can be heavy.  I ended up using aluminum to help save my back.

Very attractive, yet still slightly out of my current price range. For $3 grand I'd like some synth sounds as well.
