Aerodrums - Pretty Incredible
« on: April 22, 2014, 05:56:39 PM »
On the 'Strum it?' thread there's info about new and crazy instruments. I think I mentioned about a guy who invented air drums, but this is the real deal. Quite amazing, really, and I knew it would not be long until someone figured out how to do this.

Kind of a learning curve in various ways, but to think you can play drums anywhere, anytime, and all anyone would hear is the sound of sticks backslapping your palms.

I had seen this a while back.  Very impressive, but I am concerned that you need to wear special eye protection because of the light.

That may be a precaution they include, but no one using the device on any video I have seen wears sunglasses.

True, but many drummers even don't use proper hearing protection.
However, I still quite like where this technology is going.

However, I still quite like to click here for the Hydromax Bathmate where this technology is going.

These guys were on Dragons Den recently. Kind of got ripped apart by the Dragons. I think the aerodrums are really cool though.

Hey guys,

I know this is rather old, but being a first time poster I thought I'd give an answer where I can...

can you share a link for this Dragons Den?

I think we are all curious to see what was said

I don't think this episode was made available online. I searched for quite a bit and couldn't find it...

Still, I got in touch with the founders of Aerodrums and wrote up what I found about their appearance in Dragon's Den and the results of my testing Aerodrums in this review: http://www.kickstartyourdrumming.com/aerodrums-review/

Hope that adds to this discussion!

Those drums ARE pretty cool!
And no doubt, there is no glory in Schlepping Equipment around!

IMO, these are going to get slammed by a lot of folks in the E-Drumming community...because that's just some folks' nature, and attack what they don't understand,  but I DO think These ARE very cool, BUT I don't see myself buying it....(not just yet)...maybe in 25 years when I am old and decrepit, and can't hardly move, AND The whole concept will probably be even more awesome and common place by then.

I am just an old fart that still likes CD's (not vinyls so much), and actual acoustic AND electronic drum equipment...Heck, I just bought some more Amedia Acoustic cymbals at the NAMM show!

A Dinosaur  ;) :)
