« on: April 03, 2016, 01:11:03 AM »
Anybody use or have any experience with a UPS? Any good brands

How many Watts does a Malletkat use?
Does this fluctuate as you play and hit more sensors?

I bought one to help troubleshoot a DrumKat Turbo problem. I had a DrumKat, a ddrum4, a DM Pro, a stand light and a 12 channel mixer all plugged in at the same time. The UPS meter showed zero draw and 800-900 minutes of available battery power at that load level.

I had GA Power doing some analytical monitoring at my house. They recommended a couple UPS units and said the real time AC/DC/AC conversion is critical to getting clean power. Evidently the conversion to DC and back to AC removes all the junk. I'm not a EE so it's all Greek to me.

I have a TrippLite SU1000XLCD 1000VA TOWER UPS. It works great and is a good bit smaller than competitive units I reviewed. It is a bit cumbersome to move around from gig to gig given the battery weight.

Hope it helps.
