Hi all this is my first tech post!

I am refurbishing a TrapKat 2.0.  I just received the FSRs and I am excited about the project.

I found that denatured alcohol works best to remove the glue.  Goof off and WD40 just smear the glue "boogers" ... and isopropyl works very slowly.  The Trapkat has "bigger boogers" than does the Drumkat lol....

When I removed the rubber pad I had to cut two plastic screws.  I tore a 1/2 inch line at an inside mounting hole.  What is the best repair cement for the rubber?  The factory finish used a light gray cement.

I will wait and see before I upgrade to nu-bounce and V4.

Thank you for your help!

good luck on your project!

I would suggest before you doing anything with any solvent, that you call Alternate Mode and talk to Linda or actually anyone there for suggestions / instructions...

they are all very nice and easy to talk to there.

Yep - and I can only agree with the alcohol and I can only agree with Tim. IĀ“ve recently got an old drumKAT which I revived with their swift help!

Call them :)

Thank you all! Trapkat SN 583 v2.0L (1995) is alive!

A call to AM said that they use 100% silicone to smooth the back of the rubber...so I used GE Silicone II to fix the tear.

I installed the FSR per the video.  I only had to change R49 on the main board.  All pads work as designed.  It plays nicely with my Kurzweil PC3x!

The only hiccup was that the bottom row of hex nuts broke from the frame.  JB Kwik did not hold them but pliers did.

Now I have to calibrate and wrap my head around the menus.  Hopefully they are easier than the Drumkat EZ....

Thank you again,

The EZ has a screen like the DrumKAT 3 and 4, just the menus are tunnel sequences... dank, musty places with monsters lurking around each bend...  Uh... or something.
