What is the Difference between the Standard Toontracks Library and the Alternate Mode Version?
The Alternate Mode Edition features 16 bit sounds best suited for real time triggering. Each drum has three microphone settings to choice from. Closed Mic, Ambience Mic and Overhead Mic. All of the sounds use the new toontracks TPC format. This saves lots of disk space while retaining the audio quality.
Because Superior comes pre-installed on the Receptor, it is truly plug and play and has been configured to trigger perfectly from Alternate Mode comprehensive line of MIDI controllers.

What is the Alternate Mode Sound Library?
Each ReceptorAM comes preinstalled with the Alternate Mode Percussion Library. This library includes hundreds of instruments including a wide range of ethnic percussion, mallet percussion, timpani and more.
What other Sounds and VST Plug ins are included?

What are the other differences between the AM Receptor and the Standard Receptor from Muse Research?
The Receptor AM comes with 1.25Gig of RAM standard. (instead of 256 RAM)
How Big is the hard drive?
160Gigs.
How many outputs are on the Receptor?
The Receptor has stereo outs. It also includes an ADAT optical out that will
allow for a total of 8 individual outputs. Devices like he Beringer ADA8000 are designed to expand the optical outputs to balanced XLR outputs.
It should be noted that the Receptor has a virtual mixer built in. Each of the
16 channels can have their own in line effects Matrix that allow up to three
effects plug ins per channel. Two dedicated effect busses as well as an effects Matrix on the Master out is also available.
The Receptor has an arsenal of effects plug ins to choose from that’s standard. All of this can be routed to the Stereo Outs in the Receptor.
The Virtual Mixer can be controlled via MIDI or through the front panel of the Receptor.
Do I need a MIDI Interface or Audio Card?
No. That is the beauty of the Receptor. Both MIDI and Audio are built in,
optimized to work automatically.
Do I need a monitor?
No. But it makes life easier when programming. At home, you can hook up the Receptor to your computer (via Ethernet). Your home computer then connects to the Receptor. Both your computer and Receptor Remote shares the monitor.
On the gig, you don’t need the monitor. You can just load in your multi setups with a simple turn on the dial on the front panel.
Does the Receptor have a built in sequencer?
No, but you can connect the Receptor to your computer’s sequencer via MIDI just like a standard sound module or you can use UniWire.
Can I control loops on the Receptor?
Yes! Products Like Stylus RMX from spectrasonics make a great tool for playing or tiggering Loops on the fly.
